Inter Godfather’s keeps clean slate
Inter Godfather’s cruised to its third win in as many games in the 2011 NMIFA Men’s Fall League after whipping Korean Football Association on Saipan, 5-1, last Sunday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.
With the victory, Inter Godfather’s stretched its lead in Group B to two games, while KFAS dropped its season debut.
Actually, KFAS got off to a good start in its first game when Calvin Yang pulled away from his defenders, caught Inter Godfather’s goalie Evan Hunsberger napping, and scored the first goal in the match with only two minutes gone by in the opening frame.
After the early defensive lapses, Inter made the necessary adjustments and 13 minutes later Peter Loken hit a header off Peter Houk’s corner kick to equalize.
The first half still ended in a deadlock, 1-all, but Inter Godfather’s quickly took the lead at the beginning of the second half with Arkie Reusora making his first goal in the game in the 46th minute.
Inter Godfather’s made it a 3-1 lead in the 59th minute, as Reusora found the back of the net anew. Inter completed its domination of KFAS in the second half after adding two more goals in a span of six minutes. Masatoshi Otsuka drilled the fourth goal in the 68th minute, while Shunji Nagayasu also made it to the scoreboard in the 74th minute.
