The Office of the Attorney General has filed an amended information that charged five persons, including three women, over the beating of a female cashier and two men at a store in Chalan Kanoa.

The first amended information filed by Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest contained a total of 26 charges against Cheroleen Ray, 20; Arinna A. Reiong, 26; Norna Tipingeni, 22; Anson Sansi, 24; and Mark Rudolph, 25.

Ernest filed the amended information to remove the minor consuming alcohol charge filed against Ray.

This came after Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman found probable cause to all charges against five defendants and dismissed the minor consuming alcohol charge against Ray during Tuesday’s preliminary hearing.

The amended information is charging Ray with assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery, and two counts of disturbing the peace.

Reiong is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Tipingeni is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Sansi is facing two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of aggravated assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery, and two counts of disturbing the peace.

Rudolph is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and attempted robbery.

Police said the cashier was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment of a broken nose, cheek fracture, and a swelling bruise on her head.

Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that the incident happened at Dhaka Store along Texas Road in the morning last Oct. 8.

When a police officer responded to the scene, the cashier was lying in a pool of blood on the floor.

Preliminary investigation showed that while one of the male victims was standing in front of the store, the three female suspects went. At the time, the cashier was sleeping on a chair.

Ray used the phone and later slammed it on the console. The cashier got up and told Ray not to break the phone.

Ray, however, allegedly started beating up the cashier. The two female suspects along with defendant Sansi joined in the attack on the cashier.

The three female suspects took butane gas and started hitting the cashier with the cans several times.

The male victim went inside to help, but Rudolph stopped him from going in. Ray began punching the male victim.

Rudolph walked toward the cash register and tried to open it.

Sansi also allegedly beat up and threw a can of soda on a male customer, who was trying to stop the female suspects from assaulting the cashier.
