The United Basketball Association’s 3-on-3 tournament is back for the third straight time and will kick off on Nov. 9.

Dubbed as the 3rd Annual Docomo Pacific/UBA 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, the competition will have three divisions and will be played at the JP Center Basketball Court in Garapan. UBA president James Lee said this year, they are opening the tournament to female players via the women’s division contest. Lee added they will still have the open division and the boys U18.

“It will be a two-week tournament and will be done before Thanksgiving. It will have a double-elimination format, but we might extend it to three to four rounds depending on how many teams for each division will be competing,” Lee said.

Games will be played from Monday to Friday from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday, starting at 4pm. Entrance fee is $50.00 per team. Each squad is allowed to have a maximum of five players and minimum of three

Cash prizes will depend on the number of teams. For four teams, the champion will receive $100, for six and eight, cash prizes will be $150 and $200, respectively. For 10 or more teams, the winner will pocket $250.

Meanwhile, Lee would like to thank NTT Docomo Pacific and Tan Siu Lin Foundation for supporting the competition.

“This year UBA is honored to once again have NTT Docomo Pacific as the main sponsor for the annual 3-on-3 tournament. Docomo was the main sponsor of the past two 3-on-3 tournaments and UBA is very grateful for their continued support to our organization. Aside from our main sponsor, Docomo Pacific, we would also like to recognize our other sponsor, Tan Siu Lin Foundation,” Lee said.
