Will the Texas Rangers erase the bitter taste of last year’s World Series loss to the San Francisco Giants or will the wild card St. Louis Cardinals win their second championship in six years?

Saipan Tribune went out on the street and queried the pulse of local sports fans. This is what they have to say:

Texas Rangers. They’re a strong offensive team and if they play good defense and their pitchers are focused to shut out the Cardinals, they will be champs this year.
Omar Ajoste Sonics basketball team coach

I’m going for the American League’s Texas Rangers because they pretty much have the tremendous defense and great batting. They also have a powerhouse pitching staff, like the lefty, C.J. Wilson. Not only that, they beat the Detroit Tigers that beat my favorite all-around team, the New York Yankees a.k.a. “Best team money can buy!” It has been a great season New York Yankees, till next year. GO POWER RANGERS!!!!!
Joshua Jones CNMI Team pitcher

St Louis Cardinals because they have the better manager, Tony La Russa.

The Rangers will pluck, marinate, roast, and pick their teeth with the bones of the cringing Cardinals. Dese boids simply don’t have the defensive power to stave off the six-shooter attacks of the masked good guys from Arlington. Final score… the Rangers in four. Don’t get me wrong, I love those Cardinals (taste just like chicken), but they are no match for the Loan Arrangers.

St. Louis in five…Pujols and the boys have too much offensive firepower for the Rangers.
Nick Gross MHS teacher/coach

I am going with the Rangers in six games. They have a clutch power-hitter in Nelson Cruz, the 2010 MVP and American League batting champion Josh Hamilton.
Randall Aguon SLL Red Sox coach

I went to high school in Texas, so I am a little biased. The Cardinals showed the world what they thought about being coined a slight underdog, but I still think the Rangers can battle back and perhaps force a Game 7, where hopefully they carry the momentum with them to the finish.
Robert Guerrero Saipan Little League umpire

Since the Rangers took out the Tigers, I’ll go with them. Why? Well I’m a Yankees fan! Need not say more.
James Lee UBA president

Since my Red Sox didn’t make it, I’m cheering for the Cardinals because of their strong bullpen. While both teams are very good, the Cards have home field advantage and Tony La Russa is one of my favorite managers.

John Flores SML Angels coach

I’ve always been a National League fan so I’m going for the Cardinals. Chris Carpenter is a great pitcher backed by a strong bullpen and Albert Pujols is the best in the business at the plate.
Syl Ada SLL Kagman Lions coach
