Win-win for everyone
It is nice to hear that there are investors out there interested to invest in the CNMI. Good. Whenever this happens, sharks all around appear to be positioning for spots to bite. Well, at least this appears to be the case in the past.
I hope things change and that the good of the Commonwealth as a whole will be the central focus when dealing with these investors. Many times, we were visited by potential investors only to have them turn their backs on us after realizing the many sharks patrolling both land and sea within our Commonwealth. I believe we learned a lot from the past.
Let’s be serious and really look into this particular investor and if it is a win-win situation for the CNMI’s economy, we should take them by the hand and follow them through our regulatory system to help them out. We need capital infusion right now. But, of course, if they are here only for there own selfish interest and not much for CNMI economy, then let them out with the sharks to be eaten alive. They deserve it. Investments should always be for the good of both the investor and the CNMI people.
