A man was arrested last week after he allegedly beat up his common-law wife and threatened to kill her at their residence in Kagman III.

Ray Reyes Fitial, 27, was taken to the Superior Court last week on charges of assault and battery, assault, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $1,750 cash. Preliminary hearing is tomorrow, Tuesday.

Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that Fitial hit his wife on the head with his hand, kicked her on the right leg, and slapped her Oct. 9.

The victim ran to their neighbor’s house where she sought help in calling the police. She told a responding police officer it was not the first time Fitial assaulted her, but she just kept the previous incidents for herself.
