Police recovered the car that was stolen from the parking lot of an apartment in San Antonio on Friday.

Saipan Tribune learned yesterday that a police officer spotted the 2005 maroon Ford Focus with license plate ACA-527 abandoned in the grassy area near the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio on Friday afternoon.

Sources said two male minors were seen in the car, but it was not clear whether they were arrested.

No item was stolen, but inside the car were betel nut stains.

The officer returned the vehicle to the owner, Ruby Gozon.

Gozon said the car was parked Thursday night in front of their apartment room located near the former Winners Garment Factory and New World Market.

Gozon said when she woke up the following morning, the car was already missing, prompting her to call 911 for assistance.

The car keys were accidentally left inside the car and the suspects, believe to be residing in the area, noticed that the vehicle was open.

Due to the reported rampant burglary and theft incidents in San Antonio, Gozon and her family are expected to move to a safer apartment.

Sources also alerted San Antonio residents about these juveniles who would check parked vehicles at night and use them for island-wide joyrides.
