Aging Center welcomes 10 man’amko
The Office on Aging recently welcomed 10 new congregates who will be participating in programs and activities at the Aging Center.
They are Arsenio Alvarado, Mely Alvarado, Herman Faisao, Roger Hernandez, Vicente Laniyo, Leonides Marinas, Laura Marinas, Mely Molokai, Rudy Sablan, and Bernardo Sebangiol.
Aging coordinator Walter Manglona said they will bring the new congregates to a studio so they can have their profile photos taken and displayed at the center.
All active congregates have their profile photos displayed at the walls of the center to let guests know who are the senior citizens that take part and benefit from the center’s programs.
Manglona said the profile photos of those congregates who become inactive at the center are taken down and kept locked up so they can easily bring them out “in case they come back again.”
Saipan Seniors Advisory Council chair Teresita Sorroza said that while 10 new congregates have been welcomed, there are also 10 congregates who became inactive and whose pictures will be taken off from display.
“If they passed away, we will give their photos to the family,” said Sorroza.
In related news, Manglona disclosed that the Office on Aging is currently updating information on the record files of all congregates at the center.
The program coordinator said they want to ensure that their records reflect a “more complete profile.”
According to Manglona, they have the contact number to call for each congregate in case of emergency but “we don’t know who to call.”
Manglona said their records will be updated to show all congregates’ contact persons in case of emergency and their relationship to the said congregate.
