HAGÅTÑA, Guam—The Central Executive Committee of the Democratic Party of Guam met last night at the Sinajana Community Center to address, among other items, the acceptance of the charter for the Young Democrats of Guam Chapter.

Nearly two decades have passed since the Young Democrats of Guam officially worked to inspire political participation among Guam’s progressive youth. Members ranging in age from 13 to 30 have joined together to formalize this movement and request official recognition from the Democratic Party of Guam.

The Young Democrats of Guam will focus on a three-pronged mission:

* Advocate for the highest degree of social justice and equal opportunity for Guam’s people;
* Increase the political strength of young people within the Democratic Party of Guam; and
* Stimulate, in young people, an active interest in political and governmental affairs. (PR)
