The Public School System has decided to terminate its contract with longtime independent auditor, J. Scott Magliari & Company.

PSS procurement officer Robert Florian informed the agency’s decision to the auditing firm’s president, J. Scott Magliari, through a letter dated Sept. 7.

The termination notice indicated that the decision was made for the convenience of the school system.

“This is notice that your contract with PSS is terminated immediately for the convenience of PSS pursuant to Section 13 of the ‘Terms and Conditions,’” stated the termination notice a copy of which was obtained by Saipan Tribune.

The same decision cited that the “part of your contract which this notice terminates is all work remaining to be done under the contract of as today’s date.”

Saipan Tribune tried to get reactions from J. Scott Magliari but he refused to give any comments last Friday. PSS paid J. Scott Magliari & Company $35,000 a year for its services.
