The Saipan Major League Baseball Association has been invited by the Baseball Confederation of Oceania to participate in its Triple A Baseball Tournament set for January 2012 in Guam.

The AAA tournament is open to eligible and active players 18 years and under. Players turning 19 years old during the 2011 calendar year will not be eligible to play in this tournament.

Therefore, to qualify for selection, a player has to be actively playing in the ongoing Summer/Youth Baseball League or participate in youth baseball camps, which will be conducted, by qualified SMLBA coaches.

Wood or composite bats will be used during the tournament and players in this league are urged to make the necessary adjustments and adapt to the use of these bats.

The roster is expected to be determined some time in early or mid-November.

Other competing teams include Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, Palau, and host Guam.
