[B]Golf academy to donate trash collectors[/B]

International Golf Academy & Preparatory School is donating several aluminum trash collectors to Beautify CNMI! The turnover ceremony is set today, Sept. 22, 4:30pm at the academy’s offices at Laolao Bay Golf Resort. Beautify CNMI! officials John O. Gonzales and Laurie Peterka will receive the donation from the academy’s managing director/headmaster, Gary A. Liddle. (PR)

[B]Moving Planet set this Saturday[/B]

The Division of Environmental Quality, Coastal Resource Management Office, and the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance will be hosting an event called Moving Planet on Saturday, Sept. 24, from the Garapan Fishing Basin to American Memorial Park. That portion of Beach Road will be closed for 30 minutes so people could bike, skate, or walk. Once participants complete their route, there will be information booths and presentations on coral bleaching and the effects carbon emissions have on the atmosphere available. Free Moving Planet T-shirts and trees will be given to the first 350 participants that register. (PR)

[B]Ada Gym weight room to reopen[/B]

The Division of Sports and Recreation under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs has announced the reopening of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium weight room this Monday, Sept. 26. The facility will be open from 8:30am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, on non-austerity week and from 8:30am to 8pm Monday to Thursday on austerity week. [B]JA volunteer training[/B]

There will be a Junior Achievement volunteer training on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9am to 12pm at Kagman High School. The training will be facilitated by JA Guam executive director Beth Lizama. [B]Three free business workshops[/B]

The CNMI Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, presents three free workshops:

-How to start a business: Sept. 27, 9am to 11am

-How to write a business plan: Sept. 28, 9am to 11am

-How to read a financial statement: Sept. 29, 9am to 11am

The workshops will be held at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office on the first floor of the Famila Building in Garapan. Deadline for pre-registration is 12:pm, Sept. 26, 2011. For more information contact Ralph Yumul at 664-3018. (PR)
