GBL IT&E Cup to hold side events
To spice up the inaugural Garapan Basketball League IT&E Cup, organizers will be holding side events during the competition at the Garapan Basketball Court.
There will be half court shootouts for spectators, exhibition games for U16 players, and an All-Star game for selected cagers. Gift certificates and other prizes await winners of these side events.
However, the biggest winner in the GBL IT&E Cup will be the champion team of the inaugural competition, as $1,000 is at stake in the finals. The champion squad will also take home a trophy, while individual top performers will receive awards, too.
So far, the first GBL IT&E Cup has attracted 12 teams, buts only the first nine to settle the $500 entrance fee will be allowed to play. Payment should be made by Oct. 7 and the team to complete the entrance fee on or before Sept. 30 will get a $50 discount for the league’s second season that will run from May to July.
The inaugural GBL IT&E Cup will kick off on Oct. 16 and will run until December.
Teams are allowed to have a maximum of 14 players on their roster and they should be at least 18 years old.
