Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on two burglary and theft incidents that occurred at two separate tourist’s sites this past week.
On Sept. 7, 2011, at about 10:30am, two Japanese tourists accompanied by their tour guide, parked their car, a 2001 Silver Toyota Rav 4, at the Last Command Post. They took photographs and returned to the car 10 minutes later to discover the left rear passenger window broken. The items stolen include a black-colored pouch, cash, and a pink and black cell phone. Total value is estimated at $300.
On Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at about 11am, the victim an oriental local female, accompanied by a male, parked their car, a 2001 Silver Toyota Camry at Ladder Beach. They both went down to the beach and returned to their car about 20 minutes later to discover the driver side window shattered and a wallet stolen. The items stolen include over $200 cash, an ATM card, and ID.
There was a dark green or blue Toyota Yaris with tinted windows seen parked near both crime scenes before the crime occurred.
