CUC repairing three pumps
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is currently working on repairs of a second pump to bring additional water to residents living along As Terlaje Hill, Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Beach Road Chalan Lau Lau north to the Naked Fish restaurant, Middle Road north to the old Japanese jail.
Travis Spaeth, acting water and wastewater division manager, explains that normally, CUC has two pumps working to bring water to these areas.
“Currently, the Isley Booster 1 is the only pump working. Until the second pump is repaired, water services are limited and residents living in these areas may receive less water than expected,” he said.
CUC is also working on the repairs of two pumps and motors for the wells at the Calhoun reservoir that provide water to the residents of China Town, Upper Miha, Upper and Lower Navy Hill and Garapan.
“Until these repairs are completed the residents in these areas are currently supplied water from the Sablan Quarry area. We are working to get the pumps and motors running by the end of the week,” said Spaeth, adding that CUC apologizes, in advance, for any inconvenience resulting from these projects and the water service interruption.
He advised customers to call CUC water and wastewater division at 322-5030.
