Cepeda tops 19th Hole 8-ball contest
Patrick Cepeda topped Nizer Masayas to win the 19th Hole 8-ball Tournament.
Cepeda outclassed the field in moving to the top of the winner’s bracket. Masayas’ first loss in the double-elimination tournament was also to Cepeda. He moved past Taylor Watanabe to come out of the loser’s bracket, but again fell short in the rematch.
Watanabe took a tough match from Patrick Taitano, then had to settle for third place for the second week in a row.
Victor Hocog won the inaugural 19th Hole Tournament, with Edward Suzuki in second place and Watanabe in third.
The tournament is double elimination following BCA rules, with sign-up starting at 4pm. Entry fee is only $5.
First, second, and third place finishers take home trophies, with the first and second splitting the pot.
The contests are held at 19th Hole, located in Lower Navy Hill. Coming from Garapan, it is just before you get to the Bank of Hawaii traffic light, past Grand Market and before Jane’s Barbecue.
You can get an ice-cold bucket of beer for $10 from 3pm to 7pm every day. Beer cans are only $2.50 from 3pm to closing.
