Some 50 men have already signed up for the Prostate Cancer Health Forum slated for Friday.

The Prostate Cancer Health Forum, to be held at Aqua Resort Club from 8am to 2pm, is being organized by the Department of Public Health as part of the celebration of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

This year’s celebration has the theme, “Real Men Get Their Facts!”

“We already have 50 confirmed attendees, including four of our representatives,” Kimberly Sablan, chairperson of the Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Committee, told Saipan Tribune.

Sablan disclosed that forum presenters, composed of DPH staff, will talk about prostate screenings available and the steps that men should take to lower their risk of prostate cancer.

“I’m very happy that we’re right on our target audience, which is male individuals age 40 years or older,” added Sablan.

Sablan said the number of early registered participants is a reflection that the community is becoming more aware about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

“By the end of the month, I’m hoping to see more men learn from this forum,” said Sablan. “Like I always say, it’s them that would benefit from this.”

To register for the forum or for more information, call Sablan at 236-8728.
