Farming and gardening the traditional way

The Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw is offering free lessons on traditional farming and gardening at the Saipan Chamorro-Carolinian Village Cultural Centers Headquarters this Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Some medicinal plants will be given away for planting. All interested Chamorros and Carolinians are encouraged to attend. The lessons start at 9:30am to about 12pm.

This Saturday’s activities at the Rota Chamorro Village Cultural Center (in the DCCA office compound) will be making the motsiyas food,and making aliling tulompu bracelet and pendant, coconut shell earring, making fly trap, and story telling. Activities on Rota start at 10:30am. Children and adults are invited.

These activities are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office (Saipan) and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Office (Rota) and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans.
