IT&E Awesome closes in to Shirley’s A
IT&E Awesome pulled off a 3-0 upset over longtime leader Shirley’s A during a make-up game in the women’s division of the 2011 Saipan Soccer School Futsal League last Friday at the TSL Sports Complex.
IT&E Awesome now has an 8-2-1 win-loss-draw record, threatening Shirley’s A’s lead, which is now only one victory, as the latter owns a 9-2-0 card. IT&E Awesome got its eighth win after crushing sister team IT&E Blossom last Monday, 7-1.
Nola Hix scored one goal apiece in the first and second half, while Carrie Schuler made one in the opening frame against Shirley’s A. Versus IT&E Blossom, Vanessa Mobel had a hat-trick, Michelle Masga added two, and Julie Hall Schuler chipped in one apiece. Clarisse Mendoza posted the lone goal for IT&E Blossom.
Three other games originally scheduled on Aug. 29 were played last Friday, while five matches were completed last Monday

Thai Team 3, Shirley’s B 2
Thai Team 3, Kulet’s Team 2[/B]
Also recording a surprised win last Friday was Thai Team, which stunned Shirley’s B, 3-2.
Pratoon Stoffer tallied all three goals for Thai Team, nailing two in the second half. Alexa Vergara logged one goal for Shirley’s B in the opening quarter, while Mikky Vargas nailed the other won in the second.
Shirley’s B dropped to third place with its 7-4-0 slate, behind IT&E Awesome and Shirley’s B, while Thai Team climbed up to fifth place with its 6-5-0, as it also won last Monday against Kulet’s Team, 3-2.
The Thai and Kulet tiff was originally scheduled during opening day of the league on July 18. Against Kulet’s Team, Thai Team drew one goal each from Stoffer, Catherine Perry, and Khankew Baothiang. Corina Suda made a pair for Kulet’s Team.
[B]Kulet’s Team 2, Mellow Yellow 0[/B]Kulet’s Team played back-to-back games Monday night and recovered from an earlier loss with a 2-0 shutout win over Mellow Yellow.
Vanessa Pritchard and Cleo Nening recorded one goal apiece for Kulet’s Team, which improved to a 4-6-1 slate for sixth place in the eight-team field.

Red Inter 8, Mellow Yellow 4
Red Inter 8, Thundercats 5[/B]
Red Inter were on target in their last two games, collecting a total of 16 goals.
In last Friday’s make-up game, Red Inter downed Mellow Yellow, 8-4.
Edwin Cruz and Arkie Reusora fired three goals each, while Dale Roberts contributed two. Mellow Yellow got two goals apiece from Gabriel Arkoh and Woo Ho Jin.
Red Inter’s second straight game was against the winless Thundercats and the former triumphed anew, 8-5, to tie Korea Futsal in third place with their similar 6-3-2 slates.
Arkie Reusora was still at it in last Monday’s match, making five goals, while Cruz and John Duenas had two and one, respectively.
Evert Van Der Maas, Jordan Butcher, Timothy Tawanpiy, Lin Zhi Peng, and Hang Sung Lee scored one goal each for the Thundercats (0-11-0).

Wild Bill’s 6, Korean Futsal 3[/B]
Wild Bill’s defeated Korean Futsal in the second round of the double-round robin competition, 6-3, to stay on top of the men’s division and boosted its title chances.
Jeeraphong Thoensaket tallied four goals for Wild Bill’s, while Lar Wongpanya made the other two. Dae Won Jeon also had a pair for Korean Futsal, while Min Jin Choi scored one.
Wild Bill’s now has a 10-1-0 record, three wins ahead of Docomo and four victories up from Korean Futsal and Red Inter. The team with the best record at the end of the double-round robin league wins the championship.

Docomo 5, Go Green 3[/B]
Docomo bumped off Korean Futsal from the second spot after a 5-3 triumph over Go Green last Monday.
Docomo moved up to a 7-2-2 record after getting four goals from Ropati Tonuu and one from Isra Harahap. Jack Phan and Kiyoshi Sekiguchi scored for Go Green, which drew an own goal in the second half. Go Green dropped to a 4-4-3 card for fifth place.
