Department of Public Safety acting commissioner Ambrosio T. Ogumoro said police would be conducting the Aggressive Driver Interdiction Program or ADIP.

The purpose pf this program is to deter and detect aggressive drivers.

“We must be vigilant in monitoring the streets in our community for other law-abiding citizens. We must keep out streets and highways safe for all motorist and pedestrians,” said Ogumoro.

Drivers who exhibit aggressive driving traits endanger the community, he said.

ADIP, which Ogumoro said will take effect immediately, is geared toward helping keep the roads safe from drivers who exhibits signs of aggressive driving or street racing.

All department units, including Patrol, Traffic, Boat Safety Unit, Criminal Investigation Bureau, and the Motor Carrier Safety Unit will participate in this joint operation.

Ogumoro advised the public to “please drive safely and observe all traffic laws.”
