Wild Bill’s keeps futsal top spot
Wild Bill’s showed no mercy against the Thundercats, 12-1, during the men’s division game in the 2011 Saipan Soccer School Futsal League on Tuesday night at the TSL Sports Complex.
The win improved Wild Bill’s record to 9-1-0 (win-loss-draw), keeping the team in the No. 1 spot in the eight-squad field, three victories ahead of Korean Futsal Team (6-2-2).
As expected, Jeeraphong Thoensaket led Wild Bill’s attack, scoring seven goals. Matt Tree added two, while Lar Wongpanya, Jiayuan Guo, and Tanapon chipped in one each.
Wild Bill’s went ahead by only three in the first half, 3-0, with Wongpanya, Thoensaket and Guo making it to the scoreboard.
However, the close match became a blowout when Thoensaket scored one goal after another in the second half.
Daniel Agulto scored the lone goal for the Thundercats in the second half, but his team still dropped to a 0-10-0 record.
[B]Korean Futsal 6, IT&E 6[/B]The other men’s game between Korean Futsal and IT&E resulted in a draw.
Korean Futsal now has a 6-2-2 mark to stay in second place, while IT&E also remained at sixth place with its 3-7-1 slate.
The opposing teams were even after the first 20 minutes of play, 2-all. San Ho Choi and Jeon Jin Jeon scored for Korean Futsal in the first half, while Jin Han Yoon made the twin goals for IT&E.
Jin Han Yoon added on more and Wes Bogdan, Taek Han Yoon, and Ye Jun Choi also lit up the scoreboard in the second half for IT&E. Min Jong Choi contributed two goals for Korean Futsal in the second half, while Jin Koo Cho and Dae Won Jeon chipped in one apiece.
[B]WOMEN’SRed Team 5, Kulet’s Team 1[/B]
In the first women’s match, Red Team downed Kulet’s Team, 5-1.
The victory was fifth in 10 games for Red Team, while the loss was fifth in nine matches for Kulet’s.
Amber Roberts had a hat-trick for Red Team to lead the win, while Temary Gramlich and Megan Herber added one each.
Shane Golingo scored the lone goal for Kulet’s Team.
[B]Mellow Yellow 4, IT&E Blossom 1[/B]In the last tiff of the night, Mellow Yellow snapped its three-game losing skid with a 4-1 triumph over IT&E Blossom.
Noi Horey, Levita Cho, Rose Lazaro, and Jovelyn Banag scored for Mellow Yellow, while IT&E Blossom’s only goal came from Clarise Mendoza in the second half.
Mellow Yellow improved to a 3-7-0 card for seventh place, while IT&E Blossom fell to a 0-10-0 card for the last spot in the eight-team field.
