Northern Islands website being upgraded
The Northern Islands Mayor’s Office is currently working on improving the Northern Islands website.
Program manager Jerome Aldan said the website, www.cnminorthernislands.com, was created through the efforts of former mayor Joseph T. Ogumoro and then Rep. William S. Torres to assist displaced Northern Islands residents who wanted to return to their homes.
The website contains information about the 10 islands that constitute the Northern Islands: Farallon de Medinilla, Anatahan, Sarigan, Guguan, Alamagan, Pagan, Agrihan, Asuncion, Maug, and Farallon de Pajaros.
“We’re now working on upgrading the website. We just need to provide more information to improve what’s in there now,” he told Saipan Tribune.
Aldan disclosed that Angil Design is working on the website upgrade.
According to Aldan, the website is essential to effectively promote the Northern Islands as also a vital part of the Commonwealth. The website will also help encourage tourists and investors to visit the “CNMI’s northern frontier,” he added.
Aldan said they aim to finish upgrading the website either within the month or next month, in time to upload the outcome of the 1st Northern Islands Development Summit on Sept. 15.
