[B]DEQ set monthly cleanup [/B]

The Division of Environmental Quality monthly cleanup brigade is picking up trash at Abuni Beach/ Fishing Base in Garapan on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011. Those who would like to volunteer may meet the DEQ representative at 8am at the beach parking lot. Volunteers will split into groups and clean north, south, east and west until 10:00 am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.

This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt.

[B]House budget czar to discuss 2012 budget bill on Marianas Agupa[/B]

This Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, Marianas Agupa will feature Rep. Ramon Basa, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, between 10am and 10:30am. The show is from 9am to 11am on Magic 100.3 FM.

The Chamorro talk show program is hosted by Glenn H. Manglona. Featured reports are as follows: World report and program review by former mayor Joseph S. Inos and a report from Rota with correspondent and commentator Thomas D. Mendiola and a report from Tinian by correspondent and radio commentator David M. Cing. Simultaneous Internet streaming via www.magic100radio.com will be available. (PR)

[B]Wet weekend for MIFICPA[/B]

The Marianas Institute of CPAs and Accountants will hold an event on Aug. 13 – 14, 2011, dubbed as “Managaha Summer Shower.” It will be an overnight outing of fun, laughter and games to once again celebrate accountants’ togetherness and as one solid and professional group. MIFICPA will provide dinner, however, participants are advised to bring their own camping gears.
