SANTA RITA, Guam—Slight traffic delays at the Naval Base Guam (NBG) front gate are possible from Aug. 1 through Aug. 10 between the hours of 8am and 8pm.

According to NBG executive officer, CDR Kevin Gillam, delays are possible because numerous trucks will be delivering 90-foot long steel sheet piling to the contractor’s designated lay-down area near the NEX Laundromat. The trucks are too long to enter the installation using the normal commercial vehicle gate, X-Ray, because the turns are judged to be too sharp.

The trucks will be entering the front gate in 15-minute intervals throughout the scheduled days. The sheet piling is to be used for the renovation of NBG’s Tango and Uniform wharves.

Traffic will be monitored closely and NBG Security will adjust traffic patterns as needed to avoid congestion. The delivery trucks will be restricted to driving in the right lane.
