FIBA 3-on-3 tournament set for August 13

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Division of Youth Services is holding the FIBA 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Aug. 13 at the Garapan Basketball Court in celebration of its 30th anniversary.
August is designated as Youth Leadership Month.
“We invite all young athletes to bring their families and spend the day with us at the Garapan Basketball Court next Wednesday as DYS celebrates its 30th anniversary and kicks off the youth leadership month. Naturally, we are hoping for good weather and I want to remind everyone that it’s free to participate. All you have to do is register,” said tournament organizer Abner Venus.
Games will take place from 9am to 5pm. deadline to register is on Aug. 10.
The tournament is open to players in the 12-and-under age group, 13 to 17, and an open family division where kids can play with their parents.
Two half court games will be played simultaneously and will be officiated by FIBA referees.
