This is to remind the communities of Garapan, Gualo Rai, Navy Hill, and Puerto Rico that the CNMI Broadband Mapping townhall meeting will be held tonight, July 26, 2011, at the Garapan Elementary School Cafeteria beginning at 6pm. Refreshments will be served.

The CNMI Broadband Mapping is a process of community engagement and community outreach more specifically; geared around listening to local residents about their attitudes towards broadband rather than to explain what the advantages and benefits of broadband are. Our goal is to find out and document what the existing attitudes are and so the emphasis at this point is on listening and learning and to ask residents for their attitudes about broadband Internet, which eventually will lead to mapping our broadband internet in the CNMI.

By listening to residents at these village/town hall gatherings, we’ll be able to incorporate your views and opinions into both the survey (house-to-house or phone) questionnaires into the digital inclusion blueprint that we’ll submit to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

Your attendance and participation at this important meeting will certainly be appreciated.
