Rollers Basketball Club’s Rollers Madness topped the Rollers U16 B, 57-42, as the RBC-Hoopaholics Family Fun Fest Basketball Tournament continued at the Garapan Basketball Court.

In other results, Rollers Happiness bested Hoopaholics, 40-33, in the second game of the night, while Rollers U18 and U16A teams were awarded victories over Satbahi and Blue Haus, respectively, via forfeitures.

The Family Fun Fest tournament continues today at the Garapan Basketball Court with Rollers U14 A taking on Rollers U14 B in the 4:30pm curtain raiser, followed at 5:30pm by the game between Blue Haus and Hoopaholics. Then at 6:30pm, Rollers U16 B takes on Satbahi, while Happiness squares off with Rollers U18 at 7:30pm.

Games in the RBC tournament are played every Saturdays hourly from 4:30pm to 8:30pm and from 5pm to 9pm on Mondays. The competition concludes on Aug.10.

The first game on Monday night was neck and neck in the first half, as teams were knotted at 24’s at the halfway point.

Daryl Suarez led Rollers U16 B with nine markers, while Madness’ Zack Babauta and Paul Camacho tallied seven points apiece in the opening frame.

Then Madness nailed four three-pointers in the second half to help secure the victory.

Babauta buried three of the four triples in the second half to finish with 21 points and led all scorers, while Suarez was contained to only a bucket in the clutch and turned in a team-high 11.

In the second match, Happiness and Hoopaholics played a slow-tempo game as they worked on their defense and half court strategies.

Hoopaholics’ Mel Manibusan paced his squad with five points, as the Hoops came out with a slim 15-14 lead at the half.

Then Happiness’ Joe Ada came off the bench in the second frame with seven markers and helped turn the table on the Hoops. Ada’s teammates Brandon Aulerio and Patrick Torres carried the torch with eight points apiece in the game, while Hoops’ Manibusan delivered 11 on the short end.
