Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman has found probable cause to justify the arrest of a man by federal agents based upon an arrest warrant from the State of Nevada for a theft case.

During a hearing Wednesday afternoon, Wiseman allowed Ka Cheung Ip to deposit $5,000 cash with an unsecured bond of $45,000.

The judge appointed Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino’s general manager Tom Liu as third-party custodian for Ip.

Status conference will be on July 19 at 9am.

Wiseman required Ip to report daily to Liu. The defendant is allowed to travel between Saipan and Tinian, but is prohibited from leaving the CNMI.

Attorney G. Anthony Long appeared as counsel for Ip at the hearing. Chief prosecutor Michael L. Ernest represented the government.

As of yesterday, no other details about the case were available.
