To fight for conservation, women’s rights, racial equality and uncompensated united efforts are not new battles. Although these issues have been the focus of struggles for a long time, it took a World War to put them into action.

The American Memorial Park is presenting a temporary exhibit on the Power of Persuasion: Poster Art from WWII.

“Words, posters and film waged a constant battle for the hearts and minds of the American citizenry just as surely as military weapons engaged the enemy. Persuading the American public became a wartime industry, almost as important as the manufacturing of bullets and planes.”

This limited exhibit presents a pictorial representation of issues such as those mentioned above that inspired Americans to rise above their adversities. It is an engaging, though temporary, exhibit compiled by the staff of War in the Pacific, National Historic Park, Guam.

This exhibit was originally seen in its entirety at the National Archives Building in Washington D.C., from May 1994 to February 1995. (PR)
