IT&E Incredibles, Fotten Palau pull off Bud Cup upsets

IT&E Incredibles and Fotten Palau eliminated the top-ranked teams of their respective divisions after the conclusion of last Tuesday’s Saipan Billiards Association’s Open 8-Ball League Budweiser Cup tournaments.
IT&E Incredibles of Buddies’ Bar & Grill upset top ranked IT&E Voyagers of Jonny’s Bar & Grill, 4-1, during the four-team Agingan division playoff round held at Jonny’s Bar & Grill.
Fotten Palau dethroned Obyan frontrunner, Best Choice, of D’Pirates Bar & Grill’s, 4-3, at home at the USSP Peleliu Club in their division quarterfinal match.
Meanwhile, Agingan’s second seeded Docomo Hustlers, of Utopia Sports Bar, knocked off host team Home Boyz in the other Aginag playoff at Jonny’s.
The two finalists will face each other for the bonus championship this Tuesday at Utopia.
Meanwhile, Obyan’s X-Tream upset Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack, 4-1, at home in VFW Post 3457.
X-Tream will host Fotten Palau in next Tuesday’s semifinal, while caboose team Pirates will host X-Tream at D’Pirates.
All games are played under a pair of doubles matches followed by five singles games.
