Jealous man allegedly bites wife
A jealous man allegedly bit his common-law wife several times at their residence in Dandan Monday afternoon.
Jimmy Cruz Ruiz, 31, was arrested for assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $2,250 cash.
Ruiz was set to appear for his initial court appearance yesterday afternoon before Superior Court associate judge Kenneth L. Govendo.
Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that a police officer had responded to a Dandan residence on Monday at 3:16pm after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance.
Upon arriving at the residence, the officer saw the wife crying in front of their house. She was with her 3-year-old daughter.
Pangelinan said the victim told police that when Ruiz came home that night, he checked something on their laptop then accused her of having an affair.
Ruiz allegedly pushed his wife, took her to the corner of the room, then bit her left arm four times. He also allegedly bit her once on the right arm, twice on the upper back, and once in the face.
Ruiz also allegedly threatened that something was going to happen to her if she goes anywhere and warned her against taking their daughter. He then left the house.
The victim called police and told the responding police officer that this was not the first time her husband abused her.
The victim was taken to the hospital, then she and her daughter were transferred to a safe house.
