WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo recently announced that Robert P. Lizama has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Lizama was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission to the Air Force Academy. The USAFA admission board selected Trevor based on his academic achievements, athletic abilities, extracurricular activities and community involvement.

Lizama is the son of Gregorio and Diana Lizama of Yigo. He graduated from Guam High School in 2010 with a 4.04 grade point average, and was a member of the Guam High soccer team.

Lizama is a recipient of the United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award, President’s Award for Educational Excellence, AP Scholar with Distinction Award, and was a participant in the University of Guam Chemistry Titration Competition. He is currently enrolled at the University of Guam.

“I congratulate Robert and his parents on his appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “Robert’s appointment is a testament his hard work and dedication. I am confident that he will succeed as a Cadet at the Air Force Academy and that will serve our nation with honor when he graduates with the Class of 2015.” (PR)
