Team B routs Team A in All-Star Game
Team B romped Team A, 61-35, in Monday’s QQ Car Rental Basketball Cup Invitational League All-Star Game held after the continuation of semifinal match between Mobil and Sonics at the Garapan Basketball Court.
The all-star game was rescheduled twice due to rainouts and finally consummated last Monday.
The game was formatted as a friendly matchup under 10-minute halves between top players selected from the nine competing teams.
Team B buried four 3-pointers in the first half to build a 24-19 margin at the break.
During the break, a representative from each team was selected to compete in a 3-point contest. Rollers Madness’ Fred Litulumar drained five long balls in two minutes for first place in the competition.
Then Team B ran away with the game in the second frame as both squads elected to attempt slam dunks for the majority of the period.
Team B’s Errol Peredo of Smart Cagers nailed four 3-balls for 16 points in the contest and was selected as the most valuable player after the game. Rollers Happiness’ Brandon Aulerio led Team B with 13 markers.
Other Team B players included Litulumar, Ivan De Vero and Zack Babauta of Rollers Madness, Smart Cagers’ Marlon De Dios, Marlon Barbo, and Pete Iguel, Konflikt’s Elmer Esdrelon and Jawn Joyner, and Blue Haus’ Rodney Sacramento.
Team A was made up of Aulerio and teammate Luizi Reyes, Sonics’ Lerio Pagarao, Jason Bahillo, Mike Eclevia, Pedro Lizama, and Edwin Camacho, and Mobil’s Jun Estolas, Gyles Ruluked, and Jorge De Guzman.
