The Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ 4th Watch held another successful Village-to-Village Medical Mission on June 19.

The event, the church’s fifth medical mission, was held at the San Antonio basketball court and attracted a total of 78 residents from neighboring villages who availed of the free services that were offered.

These included facial and full body massages, blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, haircut, eye checkup, and counseling services.

“We were happy that there were still a lot of people who came despite the heavy rains that day,” said church spokesperson Ronnie Doca.

He said the medical mission, which was scheduled from 4pm to 7pm, had to be extended for almost an hour since the heavy rains delayed the event.

“We were still unable to provide services to over 20 individuals and we sincerely apologize for that. We encourage them to attend our future medical missions,” he told Saipan Tribune.

Doca said they also gave away a gift certificate worth $150 from Marianas Eye Institute to Norma Arabos. Various giveaways were also available for those who were at the event.

Doca noted that a lot of those who come to their medical mission still inquire as to how much they charge for the services.

“We would like to emphasize to the community that all these services are for free,” he said.

Doca thanked all volunteers and sponsors of the medical mission, which include the Northern Marianas College Nursing Club, Marianas Eye Institute, Maranata Christian Store, Brabu Pharmacy, and church members.

“Our medical mission will not be possible without them,” he added.

Doca disclosed that Kagman residents will be next in line for these free services as the church plans to conduct its sixth medical mission at the Kagman Community Center on Aug. 13.

“We will not be holding any medical mission in July because we have a lot of lined up activities in our church. We look forward to be of service to our brothers and sisters in Kagman in August,” he said.
