Yakau wins SEDA Ladies Bud Light Cup

Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s Team Yakau defeated Gaia Bar’s Nasty Girls, 8-4, in last Monday’s Saipan Electronic Dart Association Ladies Division Bud Light Cup championship match at Bar Gaia.
The four-member team is made up of Sally Aguon, Mary-Louise Blaluk, Frances Magofna, and Ressie Takeda. These ladies were also SEDA’s 2010 Summer-Fall League champions.
Both teams split a pair of partners 501 double-in double-out games before Yakau took three of the four singles wild cricket matches. Yakau then swept both partners open-701 double-in double-out contests to go ahead, 7-3, but dropped the next three singles baseball games. Then Yakau’s Blaluk won the fourth baseball match to secure the championship.
Notably, on its way to the final duel, Yakau knocked out top-ranked Aschooschoo, of D’Pirates Bar & Grill, in the first round and went through Sistah!, of Buddies’ Bar & Grill in the second.
In related news, the A-division Bud Light Cup semifinals also took place Monday night.
Buddies’ Locals Too defeated sister-team Cool-Its, 9-5, at Charlie’s Sports Bar; Charlie’s Primos downed Oleai Beach Bar & Grill’s Proofers, 9-6, at Oleai; Naked Fish Boyz edged Oleai’s Celebrity, 9-8, at home at Naked Fish Bar & Grill; and second place Kanto Boyz upset sister-team Mixed Blood Shooters I, 9-6, at D’Pirates.
The Kanto Boyz is set to take on the Naked Fish Boyz at Naked Fish, while Locals Too faces off against the Primos at Charlie’s in Monday’s semifinals.
