Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s IT&E Voyagers and D’Pirates Bar & Grill’s Best Choice maintained their top spots in the Agingan and Obyan divisions, respectively, after last Tuesday’s Saipan Billiards Association Budweiser Open 8-Ball League matchups.

Agingan’s IT&E Voyagers defeated sister-team Home Boyz, 4-3, and improved their win-loss record to 84-34 .

Second-ranked IT&E Incredibles (81-38), however, blasted USSP Peleliu Club’s Fotten Palau (49-70), 6-1, at VFW Post 3457 in inter-league play to gain a couple of games on its sister-team.

Meanwhile, Docomo Hustlers (79-40) bested Best Choice, 4-3, on the road and now rest in third place, a game ahead of last place Home Boyz (78-41).

Best Choice leads the six-team Obyan field with a 57-62 slate. Fotten Palau suffered two bad losses in a row and now clings to second place by just a game after third-ranked Wild Bill’s Shark Attack (48-71) devoured bottom feeder D’Pirates’ Pirates (32-87), 6-1, at home.

In addition, VFW’s X-Tream (45-74) edged the USSP Turtles (41-78), 4-3, on the road in a head-to-head Obyan match.

Agingan 8-ball sinkers include Home Boyz’s Mario Diola, IT&E Voyagers’ Jojo Talibong, and Docomo Hustlers’ Rowel Mariano, while IT&E Voyagers’ Rolly Villanueva has ran the table a league-best eight times this season.

In Obyan play, X-Tream’s George Lizardo has sunk the 8-ball off the break twice, while teammate Chester Cuento has run the rack a division-best three times this season; seven other players pulled off the feat once.
