[B]Special Mass and prayer vigil for Luhk sisters[/B]

The Santa Soledad Parish will be offering a special Mass or rosary and prayer vigil for the two missing sisters, Faloma and Maleina Quitugua Luhk, on Saturday, June 25, 2011, from 6pm to 9pm. Please bring a candle for this prayer vigil. The Apostolic administrator, Fr. Ryan Jimenez, will be presiding at this special Mass and the community of the Santa Soledad Church is inviting the public to attend this special intention. For more information, contact 234-3000. [B]Hopwood summer school schedule[/B]

The 7th Grade Hopwood Junior High School Summer School will start on June 27, 2011, from 7:30am to 12:30pm. School buses will be running and breakfast and lunch are provided. (PR)

[B]ChaCha Ocean View announcement[/B]

To parents and guardians of ChaCha Ocean View Jr. High School students, the school will be distributing report cards on Monday June 27, 2011, from 8:30am to 4pm. [B]NMC-CREES offers summer internships for high school juniors and seniors [/B]

The Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service is encouraging incoming high school juniors and seniors for school year 2011/12 to apply for its summer internship program.

The internship will take place from July 18 to Aug. 19, 2011. As part of the internship program, students will explore and learn about the fields of agriculture and family sciences. NMC-CREES has different divisions including Aquaculture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Food Science.

The deadline to apply for the internship is no later than 4:30 pm on Monday, June 27, 2011. Application forms and additional information are available at the NMC-CREES offices in Building F at the NMC Saipan campus, and at the administrative offices of the NMC Rota and Tinian Instructional Sites. [B]Kagman High Summer Schooal busing [/B]

To all Kagman High School seniors and juniors attending summer credit recovery at the Saipan Southern High School campus, the busing schedule is as follows:

-Kagman I, II, III: Kagman High School

-Tanapag: Tanapag Elementary

-San Roque: Bus Stop No. 1

-As Matuis: Bus Stop No. 5

-Achugao: Tanapag Elementary or Bus Stop No. 1

Pick up time is 6:45am. Please report to your pick up point on time beginning Monday, June 27. If you are a junior who needs summer school, sign up at the main office by Friday, June 24. (PR)

[B]MHS Class of 1991 to hold three-day reunion[/B]

The Marianas High School Class of 1991 will have a three-day celebration for its 20th reunion.

-June 24: Get-together at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan from 6pm to 10pm. Attire is Hawaiian print or casual. A portrait session (fee by package if you want) will be made available. Fee for the event at PIC is $22.

-June 25: A special Mass to pay respects to deceased classmates. The Mass starts 6pm at the Kristo Rai Church.

-June 26: Potluck party at the Minatchom Atdao Pavillion from 9am to 6pm. Participants are asked to wear their MHS Class of 1991 T-shirts. Bring two cases of drinks, preferably water. If you’re bringing alcohol, bring a cooler. Also, bring food to share in the potluck party. (PR)

[B]Learn traditional rope-making on Saturday[/B]

The Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw is offering free classes to all Chamorros and Carolinians on traditional rope-making using hibiscus and coconut fibers on Saturday, June 25, 2011. This Saturday is also the last day for banana print and mwar making.

Classes start at 9am and end around noontime. Classes are offered at the Saipan Chamorro-Carolinian Village Cultural Centers Headquarters at 1213 Capitol Hill Road, which is across from the CNMI Workforce Investment Agency and next to the CNMI Board of Parole Office. The classes are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office, and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans. [B]Enrollment info for Kagman High[/B]

To all returning Kagman High School students, parents and guardians: All students must register anew for school year 2011-2012, even if you went to KHS this last school year. The school is updating its records and everyone must re-register or they will not receive a class schedule for the school year. Register before Aug. 19 for optimum scheduling. [B]Air Force training on Farallon de Medinilla [/B]

The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on June 24, from 11am to 7:30pm. The public, especially fisherman, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, are advised to stay clear from the area during the dates and times indicated. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (USN)
