Hyatt employees raise $5.5K for 2011 march vs cancer
Employees of the Hyatt Regency Saipan raised a total of $5,500 in support of the 2011 Marianas March Against Cancer.
The amount was collected from three fundraising activities: carwash, yard sale, and a raffle draw.
Hotel executives presented on June 17 the donation to Commonwealth Cancer Association board president Bud White, program manager Tina Sablan, and 2011 MMAC chair Dave Guerrero.
Luis Villagomez, Hyatt marketing communications assistant manager, disclosed that their employees had targeted to raise at least $3,000 but their fundraising events were so “overwhelmingly successful” that the total amount raised surpassed that.
“It is a great endeavor to support the Commonwealth Cancer Association, cancer survivors, their families, and the entire community,” he told Saipan Tribune.
Sablan said the raffle fundraiser was an outstanding success. “We are deeply grateful to the Hyatt for their continuing support of the Commonwealth Cancer Association’s efforts to reduce the burden of cancer in our community,” she added.
The drawing of the raffle winners was held last Friday at the hotel lobby. Hyatt front desk staff Jack Deleon Guerrero won the grand prize—a one night stay in an Executive Suite Room with Kili Buffet breakfast for two.
Other winners were R. B. Seman, first prize, one night stay in a Spa Suite room with Kili Buffet Breakfast for two; Julanee Pangelinan, second prize, one night stay at the Regency Club Room with Kili Buffet Breakfast for two; Julie and Reed Camacho, third prize, one night stay in a Grand Room with Kili Buffet Breakfast for two; Sheila Vicencio, fourth prize, one night stay in a Standard Room with Kili Buffet Breakfast for two; and Peter Mesa, fifth prize, 60 minutes Swedish massage for two.
Consolation prizes of Saturday Buffet Dinner at Miyako, Sunday Brunch at Giovanni’s, Buffet Dinner for two at Kili Café & Terrace, beach barbecue dinner, cheese cake, Club Elan day passes for four, and $10 certificates at DJ’s Corner were also given away.
