Humanities Council fundraiser tickets now available

Tickets for the NMI Council for the Humanities’ 20th anniversary fundraiser are now available.
According to the council’s board chair, Tracy M. Guerrero, the fundraiser will be held in the Magellan Room of the Pacific Islands Club on Aug. 12, 2011, from 6pm to 11pm.
The event will feature special remarks by Fr. Eric Forbes, live island music, and an auction of unique art objects produced by local artists.
Tickets, priced at $50 per person, include a scrumptious cocktail menu, all-you-can drink PIC beer and wine, and a chance to win thousands of dollars in raffle prizes.
Guerrero said the council hopes to raise $20,000 and that all proceeds will be used to support public humanities programs and community grants.
“You only turn 20 once, and I am inviting our friends and supporters to join us in celebrating this important milestone” Guerrero added.
Tickets may be purchased at the council’s office located in Springs Plaza in Gualo Rai or from council board members.
