The Rotary Club of Saipan’s new set of officers will be inducted in an installation ceremony on June 28, Tuesday, at the Fiesta Resort and Spa’s Hibiscus Hall.

Outgoing Rotary president Glen Perez said the incoming officers are president-elect Pete Igitol; vice president-elect Pete Schilling; secretary-elect Laila Boyer; treasurer-elect Yosh Gabaldon; Community Service director Richard Cody; Club Service director Jay Santos; Vocational Service director Kelley Butcher; International Service director Glen Perez; New Generation Service director Jeff Boyer; Foundation Service director Kim Forrester; and sergeant-at-arms Wayne Gillespie.

The officers will serve from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012.

About a week ago, the top three incoming officers—Igitol, Schilling, and Boyer—attended the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar in Guam. PETS is an annual training meeting for presidents-elect to help them prepare for their year as club president. The meeting is an opportunity for incoming club presidents to build strong working relationships with their district governor-elect and incoming assistant governors.

Boyer said yesterday during the Rotary meeting at Hyatt Regency Saipan that they talked about their organization’s completed projects at the PETS meeting.

These include the recently concluded Las Vegas Night, Third Grade Dictionary Project, Garapan Youth Skate Park refurbishment, Japan Tsunami Relief donation, Warm Windows project in Vladivostok, Russia, Trunk or Treat, the annual Man’amko Thanksgiving Luncheon, Christmas in the Marianas CD Fundraiser, Christmas Toy Drive donation, and the Parade of Books, which attracted the attention of other clubs.

Among the Saipan Rotary Club’s ongoing projects are school drive safety signs project, Marianas High School Supply Center Drive, Micro Beach Park Playground Refurbishment, and the 20th Annual Rotary Youth Basketball League.
