Oh! MG, Gaiana C crowned champions

Gaia Bar’s Gaina C and Naked Fish Bar & Grill’s Oh! MG won the championship in their respective divisions in the 2011 Saipan Electronic Dart Association-Bud Light Cup after notching home victories last Wednesday.

Gaiana C stunned Buddies Bar & Grill’s Black Pearls, 8-3, in the C Chichirika finals, while Oh! MG pulled off an upset over USSP Peleliu Club’s Slow Hand, 8-5, in the C Kingfisher division.

In the C Chichirika finals, teams split a game of partners 501 before Gaiana C swept all for wild cricket matches. After both teams took a game of partners Open-701, Gaiana C dropped its first baseball match, but regrouped to take the next two for the win.

Gaiana C members are Roxanne Wakit, Webby Kim, Ingrid Chow, June Nunez, Carter Calma, Justin Taitano. and Joe Camacho.

The C Kingfisher finals started out back and forth, as teams split a partners 501 match, a pair of wild cricket games, and a partners Open-701 contest. Then Oh! MG won three of the four baseball games and took the first regular cricket match to secure the victory.

Oh! MG is composed of Carol Chargualaf, Arisa S. Peters, Angela Santos, Martha Mendiola, Donovan Jose P. Castro, Andy Golden, Bam Castro, and Juan Ogarto.

In related news, the Ladies division Bud Light Cup championship match takes place on Monday with defending champion Yakau of Jonny’s Bar & Grill taking on host team Nasty Girls at Gaia Bar.

Before the final showdown, Yakau downed Buddies’ Sistah!, 8-3, at Jonny’s back on Monday, while Nasty Girls outlasted Sistah!, 8-7, at home the following day.

Meanwhile, the opening round of the A division’s Bud Light Cup playoffs will also kick off on Monday.

The matchups feature D’Pirates Bar & Grill’s Kanto Boyz hosting sister-team Mixed Blood Shooters; Oleai Beach Bar & Grill’s Celebrity taking on the Naked Fish Boyz at Naked Fish Bar & Grill; Buddies’ duo Cool-Its and Locals Too duking it out at Charlie’s’ Sports Bar; and Oleai’s Proofers facing Charlie’s Primos.
