Trench Wars 14: Ground Zero holds 15 bouts
Trench Wars 14: Ground Zero will hit the octagon tonight with 15 bouts scheduled to take place at the Royal Taga Hall of Saipan World Resort.
Leading the fight card is the lightweight collision of Trench Tech’s Giovanni “Palaxi” Sablan (17-6) and Tiger Muay Tai’s Mark “Mugen” Streigl of the U.S. (3-0).
Before the finale match, a welterweight super fight will commence between Trench Tech’s Fasi “Quickdraw” Jesse (7-3) and Guam and Underworld Extreme’s Tyrone Jones, who will be having his professional debut.
Other pro bouts include Trench Tech’ s Martin “Ning” Cepeda (3-3) taking on Guam’s Martin “The Magnificent Bastard” Pablo (2-0) in a light heavyweight bout; Mike “Flash” Taitano (3-0) of Guam’s Spike 22 facing Team Pwang’s Simon “Bad Boy” Sebuu (2-1) in a 175lb catch-weight bout; Predator Combat Team flyweight “Tabi” Jay Muna (5-12) challenging Tinian’s Jordan “Jungle Boy” Ogo (3-1) of Team Haga; featherweights Brad “Badd” Palacios (9-3) of Trench Tech battling Tinian’s Mai Tai “The Charger” Charley (3-7) of Marianas Elite in a rematch; and Trench Tech’ s Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez (5-0) meeting Marianas Elite’s Derrick “El Peligro” Rangamar (4-8) in a catch-weight 140lb grudge match.
Amateur bouts are also set tonight. These include Josh “Chaos” Duenas (0-1) of Trench Tech going toe-to-toe with Marianas Elite’s Josh Cruz (1-3) in a 140lb catch-weight bout; Tinian’s Regino Mundo of Team Zeng Zung (2-0) squaring off with newcomer Glenn Gardee of Double D’s Elegion in a K-1 kickboxing match; independent bantamweight Roman Cabrera (0-1) clashing with Zalaka’s Lyle Deleon Guerrero (2-1); independent featherweight Kev Esteves (1-3) challenging first-timer Allan Guzman of Team Comquest Guam; Zalaka featherweight Zach Reyes debuting against Guam’s Rob Alvarez (1-0) of both Trench Tech and Mongmong Toto Maite; Zalaka’s Joe Duenas (1-0) colliding against Haga’s Frank “The Crippler” Atalig in a 130lb catch-weight bout; Double D flyweight Marlon Gardee (0-1) taking on independent Jacob Ilo (2-1) of Zalaka in a K-1 match; and TT’s Ryan “TTrobz” Ngirbabul fighting independent Derrick San Nicolas in a 195lb catch-weight bout.
Matchups are subjected to changes, as the weigh-in for the event took place last night at GIG Discothèque in Garapan.
The fights will start at 8pm, while doors open at 7pm.
Tickets cost $25 for general admission, $30 for VIP seating, and are being sold at Boarderline, 670 Rocksteady Shop, Hannam Super Market in Koblerville, The Trapp Urban Boutique, FISG in Cabrera Center (ask for Mariana), and Trench Tech Gym in San Antonio.
One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to the reward money the NMI Crime Stoppers Program has set aside for the safe return of sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk.
