Due to a family emergency and circumstances beyond their control, the wedding of Stacylynn R. DeLeon Guerrero and Ray Anthony M. Camacho scheduled for this Saturday, June 18, 2011 has been cancelled. [B][I](PR)[/I]

Military training at FDM on June 20-22, June 24[/B]

The Emergency Management Office would like to inform the general public that the U.S. Military Unit will be conducting Military Exercises on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla. The schedule dates and time is as follow:

* June 20-22, 2011 from 9am to 10pm 96 EBS MILITARY TRAINING
* June 24 from 11am to 7:30pm 96 EBS MILITARY TRAINING.

The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area (R7201) on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

Due to the danger imposed by this activity, Gov. Benigno R Fitial is strongly advising the general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—to stay away from this area during the time and dates indicated.

Call for volunteers for new breast, cervical health outreach project[/B]

The Commonwealth Cancer Association is seeking volunteers to help support its new breast and cervical health outreach project. We are specifically looking for:

1. Female volunteers for a photo shoot this week. We are specifically looking for:
* a grandmother/mother/daughter trio (ages 50+, mid-30s, teens);
* two to three tweens; mother/daughter pairs (two pairs);
* two women ages 50+; and
* breast and cervical cancer survivors for testimonial pieces

2. Outreach volunteers who can commit to a six-week training program with CCA (on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, for two hours per day), and a few hours every month thereafter for a year of volunteer service. Outreach volunteers will play an important role in developing a breast and cervical health outreach plan aimed at educating and empowering women of all ages to reduce their cancer risk.

Banana print painting classes this Saturday[/B]

The family that created banana printing on Saipan will be offering free classes on banana print painting, mwar making, and making a rocking horse this Saturday, June 18.

Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw (IAKN/MSKAF) said the classes are open to all Chamorro and Carolinian youths and adults. The venue will be the Saipan Chamorro-Carolinian Village Cultural Centers.

The centers are located at 1213 Capitol Hill Road, across the CNMI Workforce Investment Agency and next to the CNMI Board of Parole Office. Classes start at 9am and end around noon.

The free classes are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office, and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans. For more information, call 322-0278. (PR)

UOG internships for those interested in natural resources management, agriculture

The University of Guam College of Natural and Applied Sciences offers incoming UOG students for the fall 2011 semester internship opportunities to learn about natural resources management and agriculture.
