Bauleong posts $400 cash bail
Office of the Public Auditor investigator Melissa H. Bauleong appeared at the Superior Court yesterday and posted a $400 bail for contempt of court.
She was released from custody and directed to return to court on July 11 at 1:30pm. If she fails to appear, a bench warrant will be issued against her and she will forfeit the bail.
Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho issued on Friday another bench warrant for Bauleong’s arrest after she failed to appear in court for a review hearing in connection with a civil lawsuit against her over a debt.
According to court documents, Wells Fargo Financial Saipan Inc. filed a lawsuit in 2011 against Bauleong for allegedly not paying a $3,742 debt plus interest.
Last March, Bauleong was arrested on the strength of a bench warrant for failing to appear at the hearing.
At the March 29, 2017, hearing, Bauleong appeared in court under custody. Camacho released her and ordered her to continue her biweekly payments of $80 to Wells Fargo.
At the June 13, 2017, review hearing, Bauleong failed to appear. This prompted Camacho to issue another bench warrant on Friday.
Saipan Tribune learned that Bauleong’s contract with OPA is expiring this month.
