Basta, enough BS!

Governor, there is no disrespect intended but someone must say something about your ridiculous politics. I’m just not afraid to hold any of our politicians’ feet to the fire as none of them are above the law and accountability to the people and I care far more about the CNMI than any politician! I beg the indulgence of readers to think about how ridiculous the governor’s claim is—that the anti-casino move is politically motivated. The anti-casino movement has been in existence for over a decade driven by the church and social activists as a result of the devastation done to our society by the poker machines. It was a social and economic matter for the people, not political!

The casino issue was given too the people in the past to keep it from being a political football and it was you, governor, who made the casino issue a political football by ignoring the “no” decision of the people and forcing the issue with your political machine in the Legislature. So don’t cry foul, governor, when you are the one doing all the fouling! The politics of those against the casino in the Legislature is not politically motivated for self-interest but soundly based on what the people decided in the voting booth! Governor, until the people vote again on the casino issue it will remain the politics of the people so don’t complain when the representatives of the people maintain their respect and allegiance to the people’s “no” decision! I told readers you were not a real politician and now you are proving it!

I also found it interesting and even eye-opening to see the governor and his Covenant Party on the front page of the news together. One has been arrested for corruption and the other is using half-truths to tell whole lies and thinks we the people are stupid enough to believe the lies. Ever since the Covenant Party took control of our government there has been one arrest after another, thanks to the feds and our own public auditor. Why Sen. Torres wanted to unite with the Covenant I may never know, even though I know he must have thought at the time it was a great power play for votes. He didn’t think about the ticking bombs that had already exploded within the Covenant Party and the ones not yet discovered. Better luck next time, Sen. Torres, and please choose better because you deserve a better running mate—a lot of voters like you but not your running mate. You should have known better than to let the governor get you to go against the people’s “no” decision. Now look at the mess that can even be smelled as far away as Washington D.C.!

Basta! Enough of your poor and even bad politics, governor, with lip service full of half-truths that are really whole lies. We are not stupid and can see what you are trying to do—get elected for the first time and doing a horrible job of it because retirees are waking up and not falling for your BS.

PS: Doubling up on your big signs does not equate to votes. You either earn votes or you don’t! I also want the Babauta and Heinz Republican teams to know that I really like both teams but it is far more important for the CNMI to find a cure for our very sick democracy and the Democrats are the only antidote. We the people need a strong two-party system for the proper checks and balances within our government so people like me and others won’t have to hold our leaders accountable from the sidelines as election season is really about having good accountable government for the people of the CNMI, not individual politicians playing politics to get elected.
