BANMI to hold tryouts, meeting on Saturday
The Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands will be holding open tryouts for the CNMI boys and girls national teams in time for the upcoming Under-15 Micronesian Basketball Tournament.
Tomorrow, Saturday, will be the first of several weekend tryouts at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium. The boys tryouts will be from 1pm to 3pm, while the girls will take the court from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Players are encouraged to be at the Ada Gym 30 minutes before the tryouts start and bring their own water bottle, towel, extra shirts, and a pair of basketball sneakers.
The training schedule and other documents will be handed out after the tryout session.
Saipan will be hosting the MBT from June 21 to 27 where teams from Guam, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands will be competing.
In other news, BANMI will also hold its general membership meeting on the same day, Feb. 14, at 10am at the Ada Gym conference room.
Agenda includes the election of new officers, development plan, and events and competition calendar for 2015.
