A bank employee was arrested Friday morning by Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives for allegedly stealing more than a thousand dollars from the Bank of Saipan.

Caroline Borja, 33, who works as a teller at the bank, was arrested in Papago.

Last Dec. 29, the Bank of Saipan in Chalan Kanoa reported that Borja, who was an employee during that time, stole approximately $1,250.

Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley M. Bogdan issued and signed the arrest warrant for Borja, and set the bail at $5,000.

Borja was admitted to the Department of Corrections and is awaiting bail hearing this week.
