Bank of Saipan donated $2,500 yesterday for the American Red Cross-Northern Mariana Islands Chapter’s “Red Cross Gala” on Feb. 26.

John Arroyo, who is the chief executive officer of the Bank of Saipan and an NMI Chapter board member, said that he and the Bank of Saipan are “proud to be a member of the American Red Cross.”

“We highly believe in their mission and the things that they do for the island, and there is absolutely 100% support from the staff, management, and the board of the Bank of Saipan to do all that we can do to assist the Red Cross,” he said.

NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsh and board chair Mable A. Glenn thanked Bank of Saipan and Arroyo for their continued support.

“We couldn’t do the work that we do—our humanitarian work—without the generous support of our corporate partners in the community, and the Bank of Saipan for many years has been doing that,” said Hirsh.

Hirsh also recognized Arroyo for his long history of supporting the American Red Cross both on Saipan and in Guam. “[Arroyo is] very civic-minded and is always thinking about the community,” he added.

On the behalf of the chapter, Glenn gave her “sincerest gratitude” to the Bank of Saipan for its continued support of the American Red Cross and to Arroyo for his contributions as an NMI Chapter board member.

“The Bank of Saipan has always been a longstanding company that contributes to our economy and to our community, so we’re just so grateful and very excited to have [them] with us [on Feb. 26],” said Glenn.

The “Red Cross Gala” is set for Feb. 26 at Kensington Hotel Saipan. It will be an exclusive, Hollywood-themed event celebrating the Red Cross’ 43 years of humanitarian work in the CNMI.

For those interested in sponsoring the event and having tables/seats at the gala, the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter asks you to email Glenn at mable.glenn@redcross.org or call the NMI Chapter office at 670-234-3459.

American Red Cross-NMI Chapter representatives present at the check handoff yesterday included Hirsh, Glenn, and chapter board member Brent Deleon Guerrero.

Gala donors thus far include McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan, Docomo Pacific, TurnKey Solutions, E-Land Group, and now the Bank of Saipan.
