Bank accepting grant applications for small businesses
Bank of Hawaii is now accepting applications for the I Kinometi Para I Kumunidåt I Islå-ta/Small Business Revitalization and Development Grant for projects that stimulate small business development and economic activity on Saipan. Small business owners with a successful track record in business operation or management and who have not yet been a recipient of the grant are invited to submit applications by Monday, Nov. 14, 2016. Grants will be awarded of up to $5,000 each.
Bank of Hawaii established the grant program in 2012 to promote new businesses in the Western Pacific and to encourage existing small businesses to expand.
If not already completed, grant awardees are required to successfully complete one of the following before Nov. 17, 2016:
CNMI Small Business Development Center small business training program.
Bank of Hawaii Smart Money small business financial education training.
Grant awardees are also expected to report back to the bank on how the grant has made a difference to their business and the community by Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016.
