Babauta lauds Calvo’s deportation decision
While Guam’s incumbent delegate has remained silent on the recent deportation of a FAS migrant, former Interior assistant secretary and congressional delegate candidate Tony Babauta is in full support of Gov. Eddie Baza Calvo’s deportation executive order.
“I applaud Governor Calvo for the steps he has taken to prioritize the removal of FAS citizens who have broken Guam’s laws and meet the test for deportation under the Compacts of Free Association,” Babauta said.
“The U.S. government has not denied that deportation is their responsibility, but they are shirking their duties under the guise of national priorities.
“If Guam is the center stage for our nation’s military might, shouldn’t our community deserve what is right? And if Ms. Bordallo can be vocal for the military, then why is she so silent for our community,” Babauta added.
“I will work with our leaders, Democrat or Republican, to fight for Guam. Our community should never be put on the back burner and be a lesser priority to whomever is our voice in the nation’s capitol. It certainly will not be that on my watch.”
